Hello! I'm Crystal, owner of Distinction Events & Design and I'm elated that you are here to get to know our amazing planner tribe!
After being born and raised in a small town in Eastern North Carolina, I ventured to Greensboro, NC for college, where I attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to earn my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and later attended East Carolina University to earn my Masters in Nursing and Business Administration. Go Spartans and Pirates, and yes...I'm a nurse!!!!
My nursing experience coupled with my training and passion for events and design, has blessed me to have the ability to plan, execute, troubleshoot, and design given some of the best and worst cards dealt.
As a Certified Wedding & Event Planner, with over 13 years of experience, my heart and passion is to help individuals experience a seamless event from planning through design, setting realistic expectations, while educating a client on how to save their money and make wise choices at the same time.
As the owner and lead consultant of Distinction, Events & Design, I can truly say working with our team is nothing but sheer fun! We have a myriad of expertise amongst our staff.
Meet Jackie
Hi! I am Jacquelyn Handsome , affectionately known as "Jackie"! My southern belle charm and impeccable style makes me a perfect fit with the Distinction Team.
Born a North Carolina native, I received my Bachelors of Science in Community Recreation and Event Planning from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. . . GO Spartans! Most describe me as having an energetic personality, hence why I've become known as a 'Wedding Gladiator' over the past 6 years. Oh, and did I mention that I LOVE all things SPARKLE. .
As a planner, I will diligently work to make sure all your wedding dreams come true. My experience with countless corporate events, social occasions, weddings, along with being a certified wedding planner through the Bridal Society has made me a triple threat. With specialization in multicultural weddings, the decision to become a wedding planner was a no-brainer after noticing the thrill and passion. I've always loved giving advice to every engaged couple I knew, and planning events. Event planning is everything to me, even in my childhood with my infamous ”Barbie Doll Tea Parties”.

Planning is my life, from weddings, to the corporate world, to motherhood! My preferred wedding style is …Classic Chic or Vintage.
Born and raised in Greensboro, NC, with an associate degree in Business Administration and currently working as an Executive Administrator and Project Manager, organization and timing mean A LOT to me. I love to have fun and I am big on family! I love my family dearly so any excuse to have a family gathering does my heart good; which is another reason why I love weddings because it brings people together.
Over the past 5 years as a Certified Wedding Planner, I have had many wedding 'shero' moments. Bringing peoples’ vision to life and executing exactly what they want on wedding day is so important to me. There is an adrenaline rush that I experience with every wedding and I love it! Your wedding day should always be one for the books and that is the experience I always want to deliver, bloopers & all!
Meet Laci
Born and raised in Mississippi, I am the ultimate, sophisticated Southern girl with big city panache.
As a southern girl before venturing to NC, I received my Bachelors Degree from Alcorn State University in MIssissippi, and later became a Georgia peach and completed my Masters of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Georgia. I am a lover of wine and all things design, and like Jackie, I'm a sparkle QUEEN! After all, I am a proud wife and mommy of 2 princesses.
After planning numerous baby and wedding showers, bachelorette parties, and reunions, I realized I truly had a gift for organizing, planning, and decorating events. I'm known for my keen attention to detail and stellar logistical management as a timeline genius; no stone is left unturned and no event starts late on my watch.
For over 10 years, I have been creating memorable events with impeccable attention to detail that capture the client's personal style; Yep...I'm known for my creative, extraordinary ideas and whimsical décor accents. My relaxed demeanor and ingenious personality tend to soothe clients' temperaments while I create the customized events of their every dream. From simply classic to delicately modern, I have the ability to cater to a diverse array of wishes. These qualities, together with my respect for my clients' desires allow me to put their needs and wants first by creating an event that is unique and truly fabulous!

Born a native of Dayton, Ohio, I love LOVE! When asked what keeps me motivated while planning, the answer isn't hard... it’s Cardi B! (*que "She Bad")
Born a native of Dayton, Ohio, I earned my Bachelors of Science with a concentration in Finance from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. . . Aggie Pride! I also earned my Masters of Business Administration from Liberty University. For many years, my background with professional experience in finance, healthcare database & marketing has played a major part in my role as an Event Consultant with Distinction Events & Design.
My everyday experience as an administrative assistant has helped obtain skills such as: being a multitasker, troubleshooter and learning detailed oriented skills that are essential for a successful event while providing outstanding service.
By working in the area of event execution, it’s truly an honor for couples or an individual to entrust us to bring their event to life and celebrate precious moments for their family and friends. As a veteran of Distinction Events & Design, I love and enjoy the diversity that each client and event offers as I strive to ensure the smallest details are done to perfection to guarantee a memorable, wonderful, and stress-free event.
