Have you ever heard of Wedding Insurance? You’re probably thinking what is it and Is it really a thing? It is exactly how it sounds! How many times have you heard a Wedding Day Horror Story and thought this can’t be true? It can absolutely be true!
Generally, when it comes to Events & Weddings there are two types of Insurance coverage:
Wedding Cancellation Insurance
Liability Insurance
Wedding Cancellation Insurance provides clients with the protection of losing vendor and venue deposits or non-refundable payments. This covers you and your wedding day against unforeseen circumstances or extreme situations that could cause postponement or event cancellation.
Typically Wedding Cancellation Insurance covers:
Vendor Bankruptcy
Venue Closings
Accident or Illness
Extreme Weather (Hurricanes, Flooding, Tornados)
Fires
Military Deployment
Cancellation Insurance can also protect you against financial losses during your event to cover other
unforeseen circumstances such as,
Lost wedding rings
Vendor no-shows
Lost or Damaged wedding gifts
Lost Photographs
Damage to your wedding gown
Etc.
How does it work?
For the most part, you are allowed to select the amount of coverage you would like, but generally, insurance companies will recommend coverage to be specific to what you are expecting to spend on your wedding day. Cancellation Policies begin at $130.00 and up.
Liability Insurance
Liability Insurance helps to protect you if someone causes property damage to the venue or if someone gets injured at your event. Most venues require that you purchase liability insurance. Policies begin at $75.00 and up.
